social media's importance in a brain injury clubhouse environment

Social Media’s importance in a brain Injury clubhouse Environment

The importance of social media such as: pinterest, facebook, linked –in and blog sites are the major influences for our communication with the outside world.  The Denbigh house uses these media sites for our program information and announcements as well as our general descriptions of our goals and our program benefits.  Also, we use these sites to communicate with other brain injury clubhouses across the United States.

This contact with other agencies enables the Denbigh House to communicate with other specialized organizations that can benefit the Denbigh house by spreading the word to the public at large about our services.  Also, we at the Denbigh house are using the public to help us further our goals with fund raisers and donations.

The bottom line is that the Denbigh house services benefit members like me by providing qualified staff to assist me with my employment goals.  Since I have been at the Denbigh house I have furthered my employment goals as well as my social goals.  In addition, I feel like I am contributing to my own success by using social media to write my opinions about brain injury and how it affects me.  I will conclude by saying :  Social media does greatly benefit our program by letting us talk to the world.

Music

By: Anthony Amoroso

Music’ is an amazing outlet,
If you can find a topic to write about –N-.
It can take you a little time,
Just to think of words to rhyme.

But when you do,
You feel so brand new.
Kinda like some new shoes,
That you don’t want to use…

Or wear so there are no scuffs,
But that’s a little tough.
Now if you can finesse it,
You can be the best at.

Whatever you like,
Like ridin’ a bike.
Or taking a hike,
On some mountainous terrain.

But that might cause pain,
To my brain.
That could leave me insane…,
Just playing.

But on another note,
Being chastised for words is a joke.
You ask me if I care…,
Nope!!!

But from my scope,
No right side vision.
And the way I’m livin’,
Is ‘Ok’ with me.

Although others might nay say,
Every other day but Hey!
I’m still alive,
Out here tryin’ to thrive.

On whatever catches my eye,
Ya know, I speak no lies,
It’s whatever in my eyes.
I just make it do what it do,

Got no complaints about you.
But back to the music,
That flows so fluent.
Like hard times,

I felt I couldn’t get through it.
But I rose up to it,
With all these lines I rhyme.
